Farm Sitting at Lake Bathurst

Our farm sit at Lake Bathurst is coming to an end and in a few days we'll be moving to Canberra to house-sit for our son while they are on holidays.

Our time here has been very enjoyable and relaxing.  The local shops are at Goulburn - about 36kms away.  We stopped off at the local markets at the Old Goulburn Brewery. These buildings were designed by Francis Greenaway, the convict architect who designed many buildings in NSW.  Goulburn was the first inland city after Sydney.  We've often stopped off here on our trips between Sydney and Canberra over the years.  It's well worth a visit and there's plenty to see.

Winter is settled in now and we have frosty mornings and cold days, so the fire is getting  good workout.  We've only had a couple of rainy days.

The views are still spectacular and the sunrises are stunning.

We've been to Canberra a few times, its only an hour away.  We've passed the Bungendore wind farms with many windmills on the ridge.

We've made friends with all of the animals in our care and the chooks come running whenever we are outside.  As well as the pets there are plenty of deer and kangaroos around.

I've just been for a weekend in Bowral and visited an Alpaca Farm. They are such friendly animals and most are very soft to touch. Enjoy your travels. I'm going to Greece Italy and Turkey in August! My very first o/s trip.
