Back to Townsville and Magnetic Island

Back in Townsville we've got a fun filled few months ahead of us.  We've decided to settle in this lovely city and will be building a new house over the next few months.  In the meantime there's still plenty to see and do.

The Townsville Art Ephemera Exhibition has plenty of exhibits and we spent an afternoon walking up and down The Strand looking at the art installations, art and craft stalls and other exhibits.

The Village, the estate where we will be building, also held a community event, The Fringe Ephemera, over the same weekend, so we went to that as well.  The pelican sculpture was voted the best exhibit by those attending.

We met up with Bushtracker friends and had a day trip to Magnetic Island.  Once again we enjoyed driving around this lovely place after the 35 minute ferry trip.  Rapide Bay is a favourite place, although the road to get to it is only suitable for 4WD vehicles and we would never try to take our caravan there.
